On Saturday we decided to discover Fête de la Châtaigne in Cagne sur Mer. We’ve never been to such a chestnut festival before. For the first time this year, Sara did like hot chestnuts when she tried them couple of days before, so it was a good opportunity to have some more 🙂
There were chestnuts everywhere: ready to taste or to buy and try later on, at home.
We saw different ways to prepare the chestnuts, I am sure all tasted great, you could know it from the smell floating around..
There was of course a possibility to taste socca as well, one of the greatest local specialties.
All over the city center, there were boxes with animals, great attraction for kids! It was possible not only to watch them, but to touch as well. Kids could also try to milk the goat! Here who we met:
The owl was not a real one, but so cute!
There were stands with demonstrations of ‘old’ jobs:
There were many expositions on local and Christmas themes:
and of course tons of local products to taste and to buy:
All in all, great outing, very nice discovery for kids and the whole family.
Small advice – if you plan to go there, make sure you know where to park your car, as the city is really overloaded with cars that day. We’ve found a parking a little bit further from the city center, at the Sauvaigo Stadium, from where there was a free shuttle to the city center. Turned out to be a great choice.
